About Aila

"Well it's hard to describe...the energy I create...let me come show you?"

This scored Aila an audition at New York's hottest night club, fresh off of painting en plain air, she arrived canvas and easel in hand. This started her revolutionary career as a painter, showgirl, and singer. Immortalizing the world of nightlife and showing an intimate look at the world of a showgirl, from a showgirl herself.

Her talents have brought her around the world, singing & painting in the likes of Maxim's in Paris, The Box London, and MoMA Ps1 in New York.

Her pioneering work took off, independently throwing her first gallery show which sold out, winning her a residency in the SoHo space, where she now creates and sells her work.

Upon a simultaneously bursting singing career, she just was asked to do a solo singing show in the east village, a raging success with a sold out audience. Painting her backdrops & sets and making her costumes & choreography, Aila is a singular artist taking us all with her.

Aila Oldenburg is a Swedish-American self taught painter and singer living in New York City. She can be found in her Broome Street studio gallery by day, and immortalizing the cities hottest clubs & parties by night.

Her talents stretch beyond the canvas, also performing as a dancer and singer, creating her own costumes by hand. Aila's talents have been brought around the world, from London to Paris, and she continues to travel with paintbrushes in hand.

Aila started out painting en plein air on the streets of New York.

Her live artistry then emerged onto the nightlife scene, adopted by notorious theater The Box, legendary producer Susanne Bartsch, and the salacious collective Rox Republic lead by showgirl icon Lola Von Rox.

Aila views her paintings as her memories, imprints of precious moments, capturing the energy and magic beyond time. She is passionate about documenting the incredible world of showgirls & club kids she has been adopted into.

This May, Aila celebrated 1 year in her own independent gallery, Aila Oldenburg Studios located at

345 Broome St. in Soho, New York.

As of this winter, Aila has been traveling to Paris to sing at Maxim's with the globe shaking party Inferno led by the hottest, pioneering producer on the scene, Dante Cardenas.

The night is not over when the party dies down, Aila continues her work in her studio, painting glimpses into the whirlwind life of a New York showgirl.
